Cinnabar (Mercury) Mine

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The U.S. Army Yuma Proving Grounds has been closed to recreation. OHVs are now prohibited. The closure is due to riders not staying on trails, and due to vandalism.

The Cinnabar Mine is a historic mercury mining operation located in the Southwest Quartzsite area. This mine is on the Yuma Proving Grounds — always stay on trails.
